Game Update: Release Notes – 91

Release: 91 – Lag fixes
New Features:
* Torches no longer prevent water from flowing through them. Torch will disable (particle + light) when approximately under the water.
* Add volume ‘slider’ to options menu.
Fixes:
* Fixed a lag issue for Steam client when connecting to servers with pings >100ms.
* Fix various issues to do with interacting with the world and your inventory whilst manipulating the inventory, especially bad with larger ping times.
* Predict drowning and fall damage fully on client, including death. No more lag on air-meter when going into/out-of water, or weird behaviour where you can run around / place blocks for a short time after dying with no effect on server.
* Improved stability of physics when running around over smoothed terrain.
* Improved stability of physics when creep-walking into walls previously causing jittering, and for the most part remove glitchiness that caused boosting out of blocks or bouncing back from walls at tops of slopes.
* Fix lower level of detail meshes not showing user changes on some worlds.
* Server crash fixes.
* Fix torches not rendering in some cases. Don’t render torch particles if torch is completely surrounded by fully opaque blocks.
* Ensure lower-detail chunks do not render torch meshes or particles.
* Fix lod’ing issue for liquids.
* Fix user edited areas in lod on some older worlds, eg Tawas.
* Fix some options like birds not being saved in all cases from options menu.
